Commemoration of the Victims of 1939–1945

The infamous Kaunic Dormitories in Brno symbolize the suffering of thousands of people who were imprisoned there during the Nazi occupation. Hundreds of resistance fighters and Czech patriots lost their lives here in brutal ways. After the end of the war, the suffering continued at this site until June 1945.

The remembrance of these victims is an integral part of the history of the last century. A memorial ceremony will conclude Saturday’s Reconciliation March, with guests from Germany in attendance.

The program will be held in Czech and German, with interpretation provided.
