Basilica of the Assumption of Our Lady
For the jubilee 10th edition of the festival, a unique original Czech-German mass has been created. The libretto is inspired by the poems of Prague-born German-language poet Rainer Maria Rilke and also honors the work of his translator, the prominent Czech poet Bohuslav Reynek. Both Czech and German artists are involved in this project.
The mass will be celebrated by Father Jan Pacner. The concelebrants will be Father Jozef Ržonca, the priest of the Roman Catholic parish at the Basilica of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, Václav Slouk, Provost of the Royal Chapter of St. Peter and Paul in Brno, and Dr. P. Martin Leitgöb, Provincial of the Redemptorists of Vienna-Munich. The reading will be delivered by Abbess Francesca Šimuniová of the Czech-German Abbey.
