Arnošt Lustig’s Waves of Joy

“Truth is the actual state of affairs and humans need it.”

In early 2021, ten years after Arnošt Lustig’s death, Euromedia published the book Vlny štěstí Arnošta Lustiga aneb My jsme chtěli jiný svět (Arnošt Lustig’s Waves of Joy or We Wanted a Different World). This unique selection of unpublished interviews and radio broadcasts from 1953–2010 includes timeless reflections upon life, freedom and creativity, and about what one must hold onto at any cost, and what, on the contrary, is dispensable.

The legacy of the journalist, writer, educationist and Holocaust witness Arnošt Lustig will be the topic of a conversation over the book between his friend Karel Hvížďala and Eva Lustigová, the book’s editor and Arnošt Lustig’s daughter.

The musical accompaniment to the evening will be provided by Pavel Helan.
