Brno – the Slovak Home – discussion
Thirty years after the dissolution of Czechoslovakia, we have become aware of how greatly our fellow citizens from Slovakia contribute to the face of today’s Brno. A big number of them are studying at various universities, work at leading positions in theatres and they play an important role in public space. Let’s hear a few of their stories. What made them leave Slovakia? Why did they choose Brno as their new home? And how do they perceive the political situation in Slovakia from afar? And do they ever think about returning?
Guests of this discussion are theatre director Dodo Gombár, s. Františka Majerčíková DLK, a hospital chaplain, and sociologist Dominik Želinský.
Moderated by Martina Viktorie Kopecká and David Macek.
Programme will be held in czech and slovak.
