Commemorating the victims of World War II
Infamous Gestapo jail and place of execution, the Kaunic Halls of Residence became a symbol of the suffering of its inmates who numbered in the thousands. Hundreds of people – resistance fighters and Czech patriots – met their violent deaths there. After the end of the war, the suffering continued until autumn 1945, when Brno’s Germans were held prisoner there.
With the participation of guests from Germany, we will honour here the memory of the victims of World War II.
