Is the one who forgets happy?

At the beginning of two large format non-figurative series of paintings “The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who see injustice and stay silent” and “Happy is the one who forgets everything that can’t be changed. Is the one who forgets happy?” was apparently a personal experience. When Kadleček was first in Sudetenland for a longer period of time, he found out that the people there aren’t really connected to the land which they live in. This prompted him to search through the history of those places, which brought him all the way back to the events of the second world war and the brutality of the Revolutionary Guard Groups. At first he tried to capture particular events, but that felt inappropriate to him. What was left behind those people was left abandoned – and those places have an incredible power of telling their stories.
