The Strength and Fragility of Lineage
Fragility and strength are not mutually exclusive, but rather complementary. Participants of Martina Viktorie Kopecká’s workshop will learn to understand the basic principles of transgenerational learning and self-care.
The workshop on self-experience, including transgenerational transmission, aims not to unearth hidden family traumas but to highlight their potential impact on us without our awareness. Working with them can sometimes feel like a lifelong commitment.
We will outline the steps of the journey from identifying general traumas, breaking them down, to treating, understanding, and developing strategies to transform pain into wisdom. In two hours, we will cover both theory (Frankl, van der Kolk, Preiss) and practical exercises (Pesso-Boyden specifically).
What will we learn? The ability to recognize that fragility and strength are not mutually exclusive, but rather complementary. We will learn to understand the basic principles of transgenerational learning and self-care. Those who are interested will be given a list of study readings.
The estimated length of the workshop is 2 hours.
Martina Viktorie Kopecká, priest of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church and the president of the Meeting Brno festival. She studied Hussite theology, psychology, and special pedagogy and education and is a family therapist.
